Villa Spinosa, Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is the youngest Amarone of the Villa Spinosa winery, representing the perfect combination of tradition and modernity, easy drinking and intensity, able to stand up to the longer-aged Amarone wines in terms of taste and character. At the same time, it has a great future and excellent storage potential. The main thing about this wine is its origin in a land historically dedicated to the production of great wines. Lively, like its red color, this important, elegant and modern wine is very food-friendly.
The grapes of the Corvina Veronese, Corvinone and Rondinella varieties are hand-picked from mid-September to early October. At the winery, they are dried in special baskets for 3-4 months, during which time the grapes lose about 30% of their original weight. Then the berries are carefully separated from the stalks and crushed. Fermentation takes place in steel tanks at a temperature of 10-18 C. Maceration with daily remontage lasts 4 weeks. After malolactic fermentation, the wine is aged until April in steel tanks, another 12 months in 500-liter French oak barrels and 12 months in 2000-2500-liter Slavonian oak barrels, and after bottling – 12 months in bottles in the winery’s cellar.
