Wine Tiefenbrunner, “Merus” Gewurztraminer DOC, 2020

Gewurztraminer, 2013 – rich, harmonious dry white wine with elegant notes of fruit, honey and spices in taste and aroma. Wine created exclusively from grapes Gewurztraminer, which is considered the oldest variety in the region of Alto Adige and has a very expressive performance. Vines with an average age of 35 years, grown mainly on the slopes around the castle Turmhof – the residence of Tifenbrunner, at an altitude of 260 to 900 meters above sea level. Planting density ranges from 3,500 to 7,000 plants per hectare. On the slopes are dominated soil consisting of chalk and gravel, and in the valleys – sandy and alluvial. The region has a mild Mediterranean climate with moderate rainfall and frequent cool winds that create a significant difference of day and night temperatures. This provides ideal conditions for full ripening of the grapes with rich, powerful aromas and concentrated flavor. After fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a temperature of 20-21 C the wine is aged 3 months on lees in concrete vats for more depth. Vintage 2013 can be used both young and after a few years of aging in the bottle.

Wine producer is Tifenbrunner company that produces high-quality beverages, based on innovative technologies. The winery is located in the village of Kurtash and dates from the XII century. To date, the owners of the estate are Tifenbrunner Herbert and his son Christophe, who are considered experts in the world drinks. Every year, farms produce 750,000 bottles, 70% of which occur in white wines.
