Wine “Testamatta” (translated from the Italian – “crazy head”) is produced in an amount of 15 thousand bottles per year. Its manufacturing is only carefully selected grapes, shot in October with vines aged 30 to 65 years. 8 hectares vineyard has southern exposure, clay and marl soil medium density and is located at an altitude of 250 meters above sea level. The collected fruit is not exposed to pressing. Fermentation takes place in oak barrels at a temperature no higher than 29 degrees, and the aging of wine, lasting up to 24 months, carried out in French oak barrels, with 10 percent of them – completely new. After pouring a drink for about six months spent in bottles in the wine cellar.
“Testamatta” has excellent organoleptic characteristics and so many years there is a high estimation of experts of international level, many of whom believe that among the “Supertuscan” wine “Testamatta” is the best example.
Growing up in an artistic family of artists, and the artist himself, having a diploma of the Academy of Fine Arts, Bibi Graetts from a young age I became interested in winemaking. Over time, this passion fully captured a young man, and he decided to engage in the production of wine professionally. Graetts has in its property 4 hectares of vineyards and another 10.5 leases. Working on the ground, he is constantly on the lookout, trying to find the old planting grapes and create new ones to create the best wines. Bibi Graettsa activities can hardly be called a classic wine, but rather a creation in which he relies more on their intuition and feelings than the rule. All their wines, with the exception of white “Casamata”, Bibi creates from autochthonous Tuscan grapes. In the name of your favorite wine “Testamatta”, which translates as “crazy head”, a former artist reflected his irrepressible and expressive nature, helping to reveal a huge creative potential of talented oenologist. At present, the wines produced in Fiesole (there is a winery Graettsa), marked by high estimates of international critics like Robert Parker and Wine Spectator, and are among the best Italian wines on the world market.
