Wine Testamatta di Bibi Graetz, “Casamatta” Rosso, Toscana IGT, 2022

“Casamatta” Rosso – red wine with a juicy fruity taste, which is made from autochthonous Tuscan Sangiovese grapes harvested from vineyards located in important areas of the region, such as Sieci, Sienna and Maremma. With this beautiful and elegant wine, oenologist Bibi Graetz presents to the world the generous land of his small homeland – Tuscany, with its magnificent vineyards, located not far from the ancient and majestic Florence.

Growing up in a creative family of artists, and the artist himself, who has a diploma from the Academy of Fine Arts, Bibi Graetz from a young age was seriously interested in winemaking. Over time, this passion completely captured the young man, and he decided to engage in the production of wine professionally. Graetz owns 4 hectares of vineyards and rents another 10.5. Working on the land, he is constantly on the lookout for old vineyards and new ones to create the best wines. The activity of Bibi Graetz can hardly be called classical winemaking, rather it is creativity in which he relies more on his intuition and feelings than on rules. All of their wines, with the exception of the white “Casamata”, Bibi creates from autochthonous Tuscan grape varieties. In the name of his favorite wine “Testamatta”, which translates as “crazy head”, the former artist reflected his indefatigable and expressive character, which helps to reveal the huge creative potential of a talented oenologist. Currently, wines produced in the city of Fiesole (where the Graetza winery is located) are highly acclaimed by international critics such as Robert Parker and Wine Spectator and are among the best Italian wines on the world market.
