Wine Sette Ponti, “Oreno”, Toscana IGT, 2019

“Oreno” – perhaps the most important wine farms Sette Ponti. The name of the wine comes from the river Reno, which flows through the economy Sette Ponti in northern Italy.

The soil in which it grows grapes for “Oreno” are a mixture of clay, sand, limestone and gravel, which is a feature of the Tuscan terroir. The vineyards are located at an altitude of 250 meters above sea level. In May, the grape clusters are reduced to one or two on the stem to get the highest quality grapes. And the grapes harvested in the fall. At the winery the grapes are sorted and processed manually. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature in the tanks with open top and regular lowering caps wort. Then drink the process of malolactic fermentation. Agriculture Sette Ponti was owned by various members of the royal family until 1957, Alberto Moretti bought it from Princess Marie Christine and Margaret of Savoy, daughter of Victor Emmanuel III, King of Italy from 1900 to 1946. To date, winery owns son Alberto – Antonio Moretti, who involved in wine production Sette Ponti famous Italian enologist Carlo Ferrini. Together with Carlo, they made sure that the wine “Crognolo” and “Oreno” became symbols of wine in Tuscany.
