Wine “Santa Cristina” Chianti Superiore DOCG, 2022

Wine “Santa Cristina” Chianti Superiore was first produced from the 2006 harvest. DOCG classification confirms the high quality of wine produced from grapes grown in different regions within the zone of Chianti, as well as dictate strict conditions for wine aging: at least 9 months, 2 of which – in bottles.
“Santa Cristina” Chianti Superiore is made from Sangiovese grapes with a small addition of Merlot. Both grapes vinified separately. Merlot, which is collected first subjected to fermentation for 7-8 days at a maximum temperature of 25 C to extract tannins and soft fruit preserve grape flavor intact. The period of fermentation and maceration on the skins of grapes Sangiovese, which is collected later, longer – for 10-12 days at a temperature of about 30 C with regular gentle dip caps to increase the complexity of the flavor of wine. Part of the wines are aged in steel tanks, and some – in wooden barrels for nine months, then about 2 months – in bottles. Vintage 2012 was bottled in September 2013.
