“Luce” – a harmonious red wine with a strong taste and complex rich bouquet. “Luce” – this is the first wine from Montalcino, which is made from grapes of Sangiovese and Merlot, showing the perfect mix of roundness and softness of Merlot with a serious structure, elegance and dynamism of Sangiovese. It is interesting that no one “Luce della Vite” did not dare to such an experiment, as the union of these two grades in one blend.
Climatic conditions in August 2011 to ensure the quality of the grape harvest. In the first half of the month in the afternoon was sunny, but the temperature did not rise above 30 C, nights were very cold. In the second half of August, the abundance of solar heat gave clusters of red grapes force and saturation. This resulted in the beautiful, healthy, fully ripe berries with a good concentration and a high content of polyphenols.

In 1995, two wine family – famous from Tuscany Frescobaldi and Mondavi from America – decided to join forces and form a joint venture Luce della Vite in the area of Montalcino. Both families have set themselves the task of creating one of the greatest wines of Italy. It all started with the preparation of blends of wine farms Frescobaldi 1993 and 1994. In the tradition of the zone Brunello di Montalcino ordered to produce wine, consisting of 100% Sangiovese, but winemakers decided to combine the structure of the economy of Sangiovese and Merlot roundness, so came to light “Luce” – Supertuscan wine, which became part of the elite circle of the world’s wine production. In addition to this amazing wine, the company produced two famous wines: “Lucente”, in which Sangiovese and Merlot complements Cabernet Sauvignon, and “Luce Brunello”, created in the best traditions of the region from one Sangiovese, as well as a line of wines “Danzate”, representing the four regions of Italy, and delicious grappa.
