Wine Lambardi, Rosso di Montalcino DOC, 2020

Lambardi, Rosso di Montalcino DOC is an expressive dry red wine made exclusively from Sangiovese, which is harvested from vineyards spread out on the picturesque slopes of Montalcino. The grapes are grown on the classic clay-calcareous soils of the region, which gives the wine its characteristic structure and minerality. The harvest is carried out manually in the last weeks of September and early October to select only perfectly ripe bunches.
The production process uses a modern interpretation of traditional methods: the berries undergo cold maceration before fermentation, which helps to preserve the freshness and subtlety of the aroma. This is followed by active extraction with regular pouring and automatic immersion of the cap, and maceration on the skins lasts up to 40 days at a stable temperature. This approach allows you to get a wine with a rich texture, a bright fruit palette and excellent aging potential. The wine matures for 14 months in large Slavonian oak barrels.
Interestingly, Rosso di Montalcino is often referred to as Brunello’s “little brother”, but Lambardi’s version has a distinct character and highlights the best features of Tuscan Sangiovese. This wine successfully combines freshness, energy and terroir personality, revealing the true style of the Montalcino region.
