Wine La Braccesca, “Achelo”, Cortona DOC, 2019

Winery Tenuta La Braccesca – one of the first acquisitions Antinori in 1990 – is located a few kilometers from Montepulciano, to the south-east of Tuscany, on the border with Umbria. Property has a total area of 380 hectares and consists of two parts: the historical center, located in the south of Montepulciano and occupies 86 hectares, planted with vines for the best Nobile di Montepulciano production, and 294 hectares of land between Montepulciano and Cortona, of which 151 hectares placed under vineyards at the foot of the hills surrounding the town of Cortona.

“La Braccesca” 2011 – a graceful, elegant, balanced wine, Antinori manufactured since 1990. After gathering the grapes for 15 days fermented in stainless steel tanks at a temperature not exceeding 25 C. After fermentation, the wine was poured into wooden casks, where it undergoes malolactic fermentation and aging for 12 months. After bottling the spring of 2013, the wine matured even 12 months.

Antinori family is part of the oldest wine honorable Association of Families (Primum Familiae Vini) and is engaged in winemaking for more than six years. Its history dates back to the company Antinori in 1385 and today it operates a representative of the 26th generation of the family – the Marquis Piero Antinori. Largely thanks to his talent and winemaker relentless pursuit of excellence, Italian wines are among the best examples of world winemaking, and the name Antinori became a symbol of innovation and quality. Today, the company owns several Antinori wine houses in various regions of Italy, as well as vineyards in Chile, California and Hungary. The company tries to keep the originality of wines specific to each area, and their main characteristics are quality and Italian elegance. Many wine Antinori through an innovative approach and a virtuoso tea blends literally revolutionized the wine on the market, and not inferior in its properties to the best examples of Bordeaux, although it compares favorably to the past for its value.
