Wine Keermont, Syrah, 2018

Keermont, Syrah is a mixture of three varietal Syrah wines obtained from different Kermont vineyards. The first Steepside site is located on the northern slope on deep, rich in red clay soils. It gives powerful, full-bodied wines with a rich, spicy taste. The second non-irrigated Topside vineyard is planted at an altitude of 400 m above sea level on rocky soil with a sandstone base. His wines have a good structure and natural acidity. The third and coolest section of Sweetwater is located in a rocky valley, where one of the last crops is harvested. Here the wines are lighter and more elegant in style, with expressive tones of herbs.
Small batches of grapes are sorted by maturity and vinified separately. Maceration and spontaneous fermentation is carried out in open-top fermenters by conventional methods. Keermont, Syrah, 2014 was aged for 20 months in old French and oak barrels with a volume of 500 and 225 liters, and then was manually poured without filtering on December 3, 2015. The optimal period for the use of 2014 vintage is in 2016-2026.
