Sauvignon, Alto Adige DOC, 2010 – a dry white wine that is produced from Sauvignon Blanc grapes, grown on clay, calcareous soils of Trentino-Alto Adige. After harvest, the vinification process Sauvignon takes place in stainless steel tanks with protection against oxidation, after which the wine is aged on fine lees. The wine can be drunk now or wait another 1-2 years.
Wine producer – Italian company Erste and NEU Keller, whose vineyards are located in the province of Trentino-Alto Adige. Their total area is rather small, so the “Erste and NEU Keller” can not boast of large volumes of produced wines, but the vast majority of them belongs to the category DOC and highly regarded among admirers drinks. The winery specializes in the production of both white and red wines, with a slight advantage in favor of the latter. In Trentino Alto Adige-grown grape varieties such as Pinot Bianco, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and others.
The history of the winery is quite interesting – it’s one of the few cooperatives established on the initiative of the priest. At the beginning of the XX century several wine-making families convinced Monsignor Georg Psayra assist in the creation of the winery. Indeed, after 10 months, thanks to the efforts of the priest and farm workers, was assembled the first harvest, and the cooperative gradually began to gain a reputation.
