White dry “La Vela” from Conti Serristori – it’s a nice, refreshing wine for every day. Serristori family for 4 generations, conducted experiments in the vineyards and cellars of the economy to finally get this light and fruity, with low alcohol wine from Trebbiano varieties. Drink originates in the vineyards located at an altitude of 300-350 m above sea level with a mixed soil type. From the slopes of beautiful views of the province of Florence and Siena. Yields are between achieving optimal grape maturity, carefully watching the balance of acidity and sweetness. Berries are soft pressed. Conti Serristori name is descended from an ancient Florentine family, famous for its noble origins. Start of production of wine dates back to XV century, when Antonio Serristori, Senator of the Republic of Florence, married the heiress of Niccolo Machiavelli, received as a dowry farm with vineyards and olive groves, located in Sant’Andrea in Perkussina.
Today Conti Serristori is a part of GRUPPO ITALIANO VINI (“Group of Italian wines”) and owns 145 hectares of vineyards that stretch between themselves heart of the Chianti Classico area and the historic part of the town of San Gimignano. Chianti and other great Tuscan wines are vinified and aged in the cellar of the main economy, while Vernaccia is produced in the estate of San Gimignano.
