Wine “Castello del Terriccio”, Toscana IGT, 2010

“Castello del Terriccio” – red dry wine from a mixture of red grapes. The vineyards are located at an altitude of 100-150 meters above sea level. Harvested by hand c mid to late September. Grapes cleared of ridges and gently pressed, allowing you to save the best quality fruit. Fermentation is carried out in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature of 31 C for 18 days, malolactic fermentation for 4 weeks. Then the wine is aged 18 months in French oak barrels (each variety separately), blended and bottled.

Castello del Terrichchio in the production of their wines with a noble but difficult goal: the production of “Supertuscan” quality wines in limited quantities. That restriction yields per vine when removed only about 900 grams of grapes, allows to create rich economy and concentrated wine with a high content of polyphenols, well-structured and capable of long aging.
