Wine Castello ColleMassari, “ColleMassari”, Montecucco Rosso Riserva DOC, 2018

“ColleMassari” Montecucco Riserva – a special wine, showing a sophisticated, elegant taste. Named after the economy KolleMassari, this wine is the original card of the company. The wine is created from grapes Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon Chiledzholo that are grown at an altitude of 300 meters above sea level in the area of Montecucco in the estate Castello ColleMassari. Part of the grapes grown in old vineyards. Fermentation is carried out by maceration followed by a stainless steel tank at a temperature of 27-30 C for 25-30 days. In stainless steel tanks and malolactic fermentation takes place. Kept wine 18 months in barrels, half of which – new and half has already been used for aging wine two or three times. After bottling, the wine matures in bottles another 12 months.

Castello KolleMassari – surviving medieval castle, the appearance of which dates back to the Renaissance. The estate is located at the foot of Mount Amiata at an altitude of 320 meters above sea level. This is a whole farm of 1,200 acres of which 110 acres of vineyards occupy. The estate passed into the control of Claudio Type in 1998, it is part of the territory of Montecucco in Upper Maremma. This area and its climate is ideal for growing Sangiovese. Holy terroir gives the grapes the best of their wealth. The process of making wine in the economy performed at the crossroads of tradition and modern technology.
