Wine Castello Banfi, “Fumaio”, Toscana IGT, 2020

White wine “Fumaio”, 2013 made from grape varieties Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc grown on the slopes of the hills in the southern part of Tuscany. The soils are calcareous and well drained. The wort is fermented at a low temperature and kept in stainless steel tanks. The wine is bottled almost immediately to preserve the freshness of flavor and purity of taste.

Castello Banfi winery dates back to 1978, when the successful American entrepreneurs of Italian origin and Gary John Mariani, together with the Italian enologist Ezio Rivella bought vineyards in the southern part of Tuscany. The official name of the company came a few years later, when they acquired the Castello Banfi di Poggio alle Mura.
