Wine Cantina Terlano, “Terlaner I Grande Cuvee”, 2019

The birth of the wine “Terlaner I Grande Cuvee”, says enologist Rudi Kofler, was a real quest to create the perfect human creations that can express the true, the most profound wines Cantina Terlano. The goal was achieved. In 2011, it came to light wine that embodies centuries-old tradition of the winery and combines the strengths of the best grapes and the terroir of vineyards.
2013 presented a great winemakers harvest of white grapes. The quality of the crop, filigree oenologists on drawing up the blend, well-chosen method of vinification and maturation of wines on the lees in oak barrels for 12 months, gave an excellent result. “Terlaner and Grand Cuve” received the highest praise of experts and has been included in the basic guide to Italian wines on 2017 with a score of 97 points.

History of the cooperative “Cantina Terlano” began more than 100 years ago with the unification of 24 wine producers to jointly confront the invasion of phylloxera. Now the cooperative has about 100 producers, the total area of vineyards “Terlano” is 150 hectares, produced 1.2 million bottles of wine annually. Vineyards members of the cooperative “Cantina Terlano” located in the foothills of the ridge Chogelberg, at an altitude of 250 to 900 meters above sea level, which is beneficial in growing and breeding grapes. These places are famous for unique soils composed of quartz porphyry – rock, from which previously produced a purple dye. Terroir has a strong influence on the formation of a dense and flexible structure of the wine region Terlano. Cellars economy “Terlano” for a long time kept the most valuable vintages. Today it is possible to see 12 thousand bottles of different years, since 1955. It also contains several unique bottles of wine harvest 1893, is as old as the cellar. This is one of the rare wine collections of Italy, clearly showing how mature and harmonious wines are “Terlano”, as well as the elegant and refined, they are able to grow old.

Under the leadership of enologist Rudi Kofler in a modern cellar Terlano aged red (40%) and white (60%) of wine three different lines:
Series “Slassico” consisting of white and red wines from different grape varieties Tyrol. Most of the lines are monosepazhnye latest vintages of wine. Exposure of these young wines are usually held in neutral steel tanks.
A series of “Vineyard” wines are 7 of the best vineyards of Tyrol. These wines go on sale after prolonged exposure.
Series “Selection” – a collection of Premium category, consisting of 4 wines, including – the famous “Quarz Sauvignon”. The long aging in barrels gives the wine complexity, rich fruitiness and elegance.
