  • Caccia al Piano 1868, “Grottaia” Vermentino, Toscana IGT – dry white wine made from Vermentino grapes and a small amount of Sauvignon Blanc. Harvesting is carried out manually in 12 kg boxes and immediately sent to the winery. The bunches are carefully pressed and laid in steel tanks for two-week fermentation at a temperature of 12-14 C. Before bottling, the wine is allowed to rest for several months.

Manor Caccia al Piano 1868 , acquired in 2003 by the Guido Berlucchi group, is located in Castagneto Carducci, in the heart of Bolgeri, in the homeland of some of the most prestigious wines of Tuscany. The winery owns 20 hectares of vineyards, divided into three sections, which are located at different heights and have different exposures. Vines have a high planting density – 10,000 plants per hectare, this contributes to a high level of crop quality. Only 5 clusters are left on each bush, which provides a high concentration of aromas. Caccia al Piano annually produces about 100,000 bottles of red wine.

The history and creation of outstanding things often begins with a dream. It was with a dream that the history of the Guido Berlucchi winery began in the mid-1950s, which is considered to be the most successful creator of sparkling wines. In the cellars of Borgonato in the province of Brescia, young winemakers Guido Berlucci and Giorgio Lancani set about fulfilling their dream of creating high-quality sparkling wine that can compete with champagne. At that time, it was a very ambitious undertaking, since the young manufacturers had neither the proper equipment, nor the materials, nor the fundamental experience. With great enthusiasm and zeal, they created the wine “Pinot del Castello”, which, however, had problems with stability. In 1954, the entrepreneurial winemaker Franco Dziliani joined their company, by which time he had graduated from the prestigious Albanian Institute of Oenology. Together they will go through a difficult trial and error path before releasing 3,000 bottles of the delicious Pinot di Franciacorta sparkling wine, which conquered the Italians, in 1961. Since that time, Guido Berlucchi has experienced unprecedented success, and with it orders for 20,000, and then 100,000 bottles, making the dream a reality and a dream a reality.

To date, the winery “Guido Berlucci” adapts advanced winemaking technology with tremendous experience in the production of sparkling wines. Over the past decade, the company has launched a new course – the creation of high-quality products through the modernization of equipment and the acquisition of new wineries. So, in 2003, the winery Caccia al Piano 1868 was bought in Bolgeri. The new generation of Guido Berlucci today is represented by the sons of Franco and Cristina Dziliani – Arturo and Paolo, who are actively involved in the family business. Now they produce about 5 million bottles a year, carefully preserving the highest quality.
