Wine Ca Maiol, “Prestige”, Lugana DOP, 2021

“Prestige” sums up in its name prestigious combination of elements that characterize this wine – unique in its kind of soil, rich in clay; mild climate of Lake Garda; noble autochthonous grapes Trebbiano di Lugana. Harvested exclusively with the 30-year-old vines farm Ca Maiol, owned by Provenza. This delicate wine obtained by fermentation and maceration soft in stainless steel tanks, ready for use next spring. The annual production capacity is about 250 thousand bottles.

The company was founded by Walter Proventsa Kontata in 1967. Mindful of their place of origin – Proventse family owners decided to immortalize it in the name of the company. Starting from an area of 12 hectares of land holdings under vines expanded today to 120 hectares, and the owners are trying to farm using traditional methods. In May 1996, the company’s founder, Walter Kontata dies and takes over the reins in his hands, his wife Cesarini with children – Fabio and Patricia. They are establishing a strong, modern winery, which is the largest in this field. Winery Proventsa has another name “Ca Mayol” in honor of the first owner of the vineyard – notary Sebastian Maoli. Proventsa winery is located in the heart of Lugano, near Lake Garda. To date, agriculture consists of four vineyards: Maiolo, Molino, Storta and Rocheta. The company is one of the most successful wineries in the region. For high quality wines Provenza company has received numerous awards at home and abroad. The company supplies its products in the Nordic countries, China, the USA, Japan and Thailand.
