Wine “Benefizio” Pomino Bianco Riserva DOC, Castello di Pomino, 2020

“Benefice” – one of the most highly situated vineyards of Tuscany (730 m above sea level) and it is one of the first vineyards in Tuscany, which was planted with Chardonnay. Sandy soil area is rich in mineral elements. Wines originating from this vineyard, with elegance and personality, show an incredible wealth of aromatic nuances. There are three different clones grown Chardonnay, which ripen at different times.

Grapes for wine production “Benefizio” Pomino Bianco Reserva, 2012 was going in mid-October. Fermentation is carried out in French oak barrels (50% of them – new) at a temperature not exceeding 25 C for 30 days with periodic batonnazhem. Partial maceration on the skins for 12 hours is performed at a temperature of 5 C, followed by also partial malolactic fermentation. Wine is aged 10 months in French oak barrels (50% of them – new), and then another 4 months in the bottle.

At this time, there was a significant increase in business Frescobaldi family. In 1989 they were acquired by the biggest economy in the region, Brunello, and in 1995 signed an agreement with a California winery joint venture in Tuscany for the production and distribution of Tuscan wines of the highest quality in the world market. Today Frescobaldi own nine names located in the best areas of Tuscany. There are elite wines, which are exported to more than 60 countries.
