  • Wine “Poggio all’Oro” Riserva is produced since 1985 from grapes Sangiovese grown in the vineyard of the same name. The wine is produced only in exceptional years of good harvest that is already talking about it as the highest, but other than that wine “Riserva” single vineyard – it is also very rare!

    According to history, the vineyard “Poggio all’Oro” was established in 1979 as one of the top vineyards economy Castello Banfi. The vineyard is situated at an altitude of 250 meters above sea level and extends over 24 hectares in a hilly area in the south region of Brunello di Montalcino – an area with a particularly favorable climate and fertile soil. Through patience and care Castello Banfi wine, grapes reach optimal maturity, harvested by hand and are carefully selected. Vintage 2006 was collected in the first half of October. After fermentation in steel tanks at controlled room temperature 27-30 C for 14-20 days and malolactic fermentation, the wine is aged in French oak barrels (Allier, Chers, Troncais) for 30 months.

    “Poggio all’Oro” Riserva, 2006 – powerful, elegant, seductive wine, the establishment of which largely contributed to favorable climatic conditions. The wine has excellent potential for long-term holding for at least 20 years.

    Castello Banfi winery dates back to 1978, when the successful American entrepreneurs of Italian origin and Gary John Mariani, together with the Italian enologist Ezio Rivella bought vineyards in the southern part of Tuscany. The official name of the company came a few years later, when they acquired the Castello Banfi di Poggio alle Mura. To date, the Castello Banfi – is a thriving family business, which is recognized throughout the world for the highest quality products. The total vineyard area is more than 800 hectares. Plant Castello Banfi is the first in the world, which is recognized as absolutely correct from an ethical, social and, most importantly, the ecological point of view. He also holds a leading position in terms of customer satisfaction.
