Wine Avignonesi, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva “Grandi Annate” DOCG, 2014

Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva Grandi Annate DOCG 2007 – elegant, refined dry red wine from Tuscany subregion Montepulciano. Wine is made from grapes of Cabernet Sauvignon (15%) and Prugnolo Gentile (85%) – the variety Sangiovese, which is cultivated only in the area of Montepulciano and is of high quality crop. The vines are planted at an altitude of 300 meters above sea level with South and Southwest exposure on clay and limestone soils with a high content of stones. Vozras vines ranges from 10 to 20 years. In 2007, the harvest took place in the second half of October. After treatment under mild pressure during the month was the process of cold maceration and fermentation at 25 C. Withstand the wine for 30 months in new oak barrels, and then – another 9 months in bottles.

History of Wine House Avignonesi began in the second half of the XVI century, when the architect’s drawings Jacopo Barozzi was built a beautiful palace Palazzo Avignonesi in Montepulciano. The main activity of the company is focused on the production of Avignonesi powerful red wines “Vino Nobile”, which brought fame to the wine house. Avignonesi also produces a small amount of sweet wine “Vin Santo” – one of the best in its class. Apart from the traditional to the region of Montalcino wines, the company produces wine Supertuscan: “Desiderio” grape varieties Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, “50 & 50” from Sangiovese and Merlot, as well as white wine “Il Marzocco” of Chardonnay. The company also produces excellent Avignonesi grappa and olive oil “Extra Vergin”, for which the crop harvested in their own olive groves.
