Wine is made from grapes of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Sangiovese, filling its unique varietal characteristics and unique expression of terroir. Wine storage potential is 5-7 years. Ashley Seymour, winemaker at home Avignonesi, noted that “” Kantaloro “is the epitome of a magnificent terroir many vineyards scattered throughout the regions of Montepulciano and Cortona. This wine is created in a typical Avignonesi style. The drink is very elegant, clean, complex and delicious.”

The grapes for wine making “Kantaloro” grown in three vineyards: “I Pogetti”, “La Lombarda” and “La Selva”, located in the south of Tuscany between Montepulciano and Cortona at an altitude of 270-330 meters above sea level. Age of vines is 10-40 years old, mostly alkaline soil, with layers of clay, sand and silt. Each grape harvested at different times, when the berries full maturity. In 2012, the first ripe Merlot – in mid-September, then Sangiovese – in the second half of September, and Cabernet Sauvignon collected in the first half of October. Vinification includes pre-maceration of the skin for 2 days at 14 C, the soft spin and yeast fermentation in steel containers for 10 days at a temperature of 26-30 C. Malolactic fermentation the wine was carried out in oak barrels, followed by Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot was aged for 5 months in oak barrels for recycling and Sangiovese – in large Slavonic oak barrels and for 5 months. Ready bottled wine additionally matures in the cellars of the winery within three months. Total production was 43 000 bottles.
